Since we've been gone.......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

We didn't do much for Andrew's birthday this year but, we did have a cake! Happy 27th birthday Andrew. We love you.
PEANUT ALLERGY

We had to find out the hard way the Paxton is allergic to peanuts. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for Paxton and he didn't want to eat it at first but, being the good mom that I am I made him at least try it. His eyes puffed up pretty quick and he was hysterical. It was a little scary I didn't know where the hospital was at first but, we got there and they gave him an IV. Everything is better now but, no peanut butter or peanut products for us!

HAPPY FIRST FATHER'S DAY!

Paxton had a lot of fun making dad his father's day card.

OXMOOR MALL

There is a boat that the kids can play on in the mall and Paxton loves to run all around in it.

His favorite thing to do there is ride the ice cream truck. It is one of those cars that you put money in and it shakes back in forth.

This was a tough week for him. He fell off his ice cream truck at the mall and then later that day he tried climbing out of the tub and went sliding across the tile. The next morning he was at the pool and fell and scraped his nose and then when he got home he was walking and fell and hit his head on the corner of the wall. I know this is just the beginning........

WE WENT TO THE LOUISVILLE ZOO!

Paxton made some new friends: Austin and Parker.

He isn't as big as a gorilla yet but, maybe one day.

Pax loved being so close to the gorillas. I thought he would be scared but, he wasn't.

Paxton is ONE!!

We had Paxton's birthday party a little early this year since we were going to be in Kentucky on the day of his real birthday. We had it at the waterpark on College Drive. It was a lot of fun thanks to are family and friends showing up for it. Thanks everyone for making Paxton's 1st Birthday such a special day. We love you.

I'm home; let the fun begin!

Paxton had great timing. He decided to make a mess everytime Dad held him or changed his diaper.

Paxton loves the daddy position

From the day he was born he found that binki and held onto it!

Paxton's first bath

One afternoon, Andrew took Paxton upstairs and was there for quite a while. When he came down I asked him what he was doing up there for so long and he said, "I was just playing with my son". Later, he showed me this picture! I thought it was adorable.

When Paxton came home a few days later he had jaundice pretty bad we had to go into the ER and they tried to give him an IV. After being poked at by nearly everybody including the ER nurses, the neo-natal nurses, and the PICU nurses in his hands, arms, and feet, it left a few bruises. They never were able to get the IV in. It was one of the saddest days as parents. Paxton was crying hysterically. He made it through with no lasting effects.

My family loves me...

The new addition to the family PAXTON!

Paxton was born June 11, 2008 at 3:39 PM. After 15 hours of labor he finally arrived. He weighed 5 lbs. 12 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. The next day a lady came in and gave us the information sheet to fill so that she knew what to file as his name. We didn't know what we were going to name him yet. Of, course I always wanted him to be named Paxton every since about 4 months into my pregnancy but, dad wasn't too sure about the name. The day we were leaving the same lady who gave us the paperwork to fill out came back and we had been so caught up in the baby we didn't even talk about a different name so I won and Paxton Jay Hansen it was! (Of course I always knew I would win this one- Don't we always ladies?!)

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT..

I  AM FINALLY BLOGGING! I know many of you out there thought it would never happen but after your constant reminders to get this started I finally sat down and took the time to do it. I think I can officially say I was one of the few left to start blogging. The real question will be whether I can keep it up or not. Only time will tell.
